5 Soft & Chewy Bread
1 Mix 1 cup of warm water, 1/3 cup of honey, 1 egg, and 1/3 cup of shortening. Stir until smooth. Add 2 teaspoons of yeast and let stand 5 minutes. Add 4 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Beat well. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes. Punch down and knead 10 times. Let rise again about 20 minutes. Divide into two pieces and shape into loaves. Place in greased pans. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
5) Flat Loaf
Mix 1 cup of warm water with 1/4 cup of yeast. Let stand 5 minutes. Add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup molasses, and 1 cup of flour. Beat well. Cover; let rise about 30 minutes or until doubled in bulk. Punch down and divide into two pieces. Shape into flat loaves. Place in lightly greased pans. Cover; let rise until double in volume. Bake at 400 degrees F for 35 minutes. Cool completely.
6 Cinnamon Rolls
1 Mix 1 cup warm water, 1/4 cup yeast, and 1/4 cup sugar. Let stand 5 minutes or until foamy. Add 1/2 cup melted shortening, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 egg. Beat well. Gradually stir in 1 cup flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Turn onto floured surface; knead until soft and elastic about 6-8 minutes. Grease bowl; place dough in bowl. Cover; let rise in warm area until double in bulk about 1 hour. Punch down; roll into 12-inch circles. Spread with softened cream cheese. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Roll up jelly-roll style. Slice diagonally across center. Arrange rolls cut side up in greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover; let rise 30 minutes. Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake at 375 degrees C for 25 minutes or until golden.

Dust hands with flour; stretch and shape each piece into a circle about 8 inches in diameter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Cover; let rise 45 minutes. Meanwhile, combine 2 teaspoons active dry yeast, 1/3 cup lukewarm water, and 1/3 cup sugar. Let stand 20 minutes or until foamy; add 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup buttermilk. Beat well. Combine 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 tablespoon cornmeal, and 1/2teaspoon salt. Pour over risen bagels. Let rise 15 minutes. Meanwhile, heat oven to 450 degrees F. Bake 7-10 minutes or until golden. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
